Lite tales of addiction.

like all good things gone bad. Addiction is a fruit of such a tree. It clamps on to the user especially in times they tend to be indebted to improving themselves.

Addiction is a chronic disease or condition characterized condition in which a person engages in the use of a substance or in a behavior for which the rewarding effects provide a compelling incentive to repeatedly pursue the behavior despite detrimental consequences. Addiction may involve the use of substances such as alcohol, inhalants, opioids, cocaine, nicotine, and others, or behaviors such as gambling, masturbation, pornographic content which are difficult to control, despite harmful consequences.

As addiction affects the brain’s executive functions, individuals who develop an addiction may not be aware that their behavior is causing problems for themselves and others. Over time, pursuit of the pleasurable effects of the substance or behavior may dominate an individual’s activities.

Using is not a liability to none. But its resulting to addiction, is a fatality blow that drowns not only those victimized to it, but those around them.

Addiction is a chronic like all others. When medication is offered and received in form of rehabilitation, medical aid, counseling. This is also boosted with emotional support, care and love from friends, family and loved ones. This is to provide room for communication, growth, and new establishment which some may refer to as Redemption.

To drug addicts, long-term use also causes changes in other brain chemical systems and circuits as well, affecting functions that include:

  • learning
  • judgment
  • decision-making
  • stress
  • memory
  • behavior

Despite being aware of these harmful outcomes, many people who use drugs continue to take them, which is the nature of addiction

Addiction is a far dangerous than most people in societies tend to view it. They don’t understand why or how other people become addicted to drugs and certain behaviors. They may mistakenly think that those who use drugs lack moral principles or willpower and that they could stop their drug use simply by choosing to. In reality, drug addiction is a complex condition and quitting usually takes more than good intentions or a strong will.
